Welcome

The Macpherson Smith Community Alliance is a partnership between the Helen Macpherson Smith Trust and the Victorian State Government to support rural communities in Victoria.

Originally established in 2004 at the instigation of the Helen Macpherson Smith Trust as a two-year $1 million fund (see History), the Alliance proved so successful that in 2007 the two funding partners agreed to a new $2 million partnership.

The Macpherson Smith Community Alliance provides opportunities for rural and regional communities to explore new connections involving collaboration between business, organisations and government to achieve their community project goals.

"The Victorian Government is proud to be working with the Helen Macpherson Smith Trust in delivering such an innovative partnership that will help rural and regional Victoria...."

John Brumby in his capacity as Minister for State & Regional Development, 2004
